UFC denies underpaying ‘Rampage’

MANILA, Philippines – Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White has denied Quinton “Rampage” Jackson’s claim that UFC has been underpaying its fighters.
White pointed out that Jackson has made millions while fighting in the UFC.
“Rampage, since 2007, has made $15.2M in the UFC,” the UFC president said in Bloody Elbow.
Jackson will be having one last UFC fight against Glover Teixeira this weekend.
Rampage has the option to renegotiate his contract, but he is intent on leaving the UFC.
“I don’t know why he’s taking this approach. If you want to be mad at me and mad at the UFC, feel however you feel,” said White. “I feel like I’ve done right by Rampage. I feel like I’ve done right for him.”
During the conference call for this weekend’s UFC on FOX, Jackson claimed that the UFC is getting rich off their fighters.
“I feel like they’re getting rich off of us. We’re all having surgeries and stuff like that. Some of these guys can’t even afford to pay sparring partners. Some guys fight for $10,000 or $20,000. That ain’t right, man,” said Jackson.
One of his complaints was that UFC prohibits him from wearing gear from his sponsor, Reebok.
“Other fighters are sponsored by Nike and stuff, so why can’t I wear Reebok,” he asked.
